Real Estate

When the owners of this wonderful home wanted to retire and move to Florida, they put their house on the market with 2 real estate brokers where it sat for nearly 2 years.
They finally decided to auction the house and began to interview auctioneers. When we first viewed the house we were astonished to learn that they had it listed for $549,000 and had no interest.
As we always do we listened to our consignors concerns and began to form a strategy for a successful sale. The first thing we needed to accomplish was to separate this property from others on the market and to overcome the notion that this would be another real estate auction with a reserve that would not be met. Because the house was so modestly priced we offered to guarantee the sellers their minimum price and offer it at absolute auction.
Our intense marketing along with the excitement of an absolute auction on such a fine house brought over 200 people to our open house and at auction sold for $672,000

This boat was being offered at auction in Fall River Massachusetts. It was listed as a 36' Impala sport fishing boat. We had never heard of the brand and called the auctioneer for the serial number. We did a little homework and found out that this was actually an Amapala made in Honduras. Amapala boats have a great reputation and are highly sought after, and this model was a 38' not a 36' as listed. We contacted the auctioneer 3 days before the sale to advise him of what we found, however the auctioneer never corrected the mistakes. So we bought the boat, remarketed it with the right description and sold it at auction for 3 times what we paid.
